this is some resin parts I had a go at casting and these are unfinished mainly I filled the moulds up too much with resin meaning there was some extra at the back of the parts.

Octogon ports, front logics, shoulder buttons, restraining bolt.

Hoping not to waste these and rather than put in the bin maybe you will be interested in them.

£ 13 inc postage uk.

you will need to do some work smoothing the backs out although as these are not seen maybe not as much work.

I was casting for another project just a case of having these parts already available as suitable donors.

I've just started on the frame for my droid but still haven't found anything suitable as a doner dome. I'm not trying to build it for free, but I'm not wanting to pay huge amounts of money for custom parts either.

Anyone have any ideas or examples of where they got their domes?
I'm looking for a full size 18.25 inch / 460 mm diameter, not too bothered about the rounded top, hemisphere is fine.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Then I ordered a Styrene dome it was laser cut on ordered from astromech.net. the official US builders website.
The two inner and outer domes didnt fit together very well so these two cut in two which I beleive most builders need to do to ensure the outer dome fits flush to the panels.
I literally stumbled across this site a few mins ago much to my delight. What a superb tool to use for us UK crew.
Up until now we had been using the Main Builders Club Mail facility, and I have started a UK R2D2 Builders Group on Facebook that has been quite handy for sharing photos and comments on.
A few of us are off to London Film and Comic Convention next weekend, where there shall be 6 confirmed Droids and a fair few parts on display. The aim is to get the UK side of things a bit more organised as we are not as fortunate to have all the events that the USA have, but we can and will do what we can from here.
My Build is a year and a half into the process and will be Radio Controlling it very soon.
Would live to hear from any of you UK Builders that are not already known to me - believe me, theres more of us out there than you realise.
